“And the Lord descended in the cloud, and stood with him there, and proclaimed the name of thethe Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth.” Exodus 34:5,6
The Lord had a very close relationship with the Prophet Moses. The Lord himself explains the special place he had for Moses in his heart, at certain instances. An earnest reflection on this will certainly instigate us to know more about this man.
God has a perfect plan for all of us, just like the one that He had for Moses. Exodus 2:1 says that, baby Moses was hidden from the Pharoah as he was a goodly child. During the time of his birth, The King of Egypt had commanded the annihilation of all the male Hebrew babies of the land.
But God’s plans cannot be hindered by anybody, not even the most powerful king on earth. Moses’s survival proves it. He was found by the King’s daughter herself when his mother let him into the river in a casket. He grew as the Prince in the palace of the King.
Then, suddenly, Moses’s life changed course(Exodus 2:15). He found himself in the middle of a desert, with some sheep, that he kept for his father-in-Law. In the cave of tribulation, God made Moses the leader that he was later found to be. Out of a burning bush on the Mount of God, Moses received his calling to lead the people of Israel to the Promised Land. Now, he was what God wanted him to be (Exodus 3:2).
Moses had forgotten pride by now. He was no more in haste or short-tempered. He found himself unfit for God’s purpose (Exodus 4:1-17). That’s when He realized the true need of God in his life. He was led to being humble in character, by the tender arms of the Father (Numbers 12:3-7). Our attitude before God is all that matters. All that Moses had to do to have intimacy with the Lord was to answer God’s call without any hesitation (Exodus 19:19-20)
God doesn’t just plan our life, His love for us is faithful enough to make us what we are meant to be. Our Lord Jesus Christ loves us.
